The Coffee Playground – Sydney Cafes With Play Areas

When I recently heard that a new café with an indoor kids play area had opened up in West Ryde, I immediately added it to my list of places to try.

Having been to pubs and clubs with indoor play areas, I couldn’t think of any cafés with this type of set up so I was keen to check it out. My first thought was what a great idea (if you’re after the mummy/family market anyway).

The Coffee Playground is located on a main road (Rydedale Street), just next door to another favourite- Element 6 (also worth checking out if you’re in the area). There’s ample street parking; timed but free which is a bonus.

The play area, known appropriately as ‘Little Beans’ was an instant hit with my two year old daughter. She stepped right in and started playing with the activity wall. There were a few other kids playing but being a Tuesday morning, I imagine it wasn’t anywhere near as busy (or noisy) as weekends would be.

The babyccino, which was reasonably priced at $1.00, came with shaved chocolate and a marshmallow and was also a hit.

It was only for that short moment that my daughter agreed to leave the play area. The coffee also receives a thumbs up.

Although we didn’t order food this time, the menu looked like it was worth a return visit. The kiddies meals include beef and chicken sliders, mac and cheese and a variety of toasted sandwiches, which is a nice change from the usual nuggets and chips.

I would definitely recommend a visit to this café if you want to keep the kiddies entertained whilst you enjoy a coffee or meal.

Toilets/baby change: There is a toilet with a change table

High chairs: There are quite a few high chairs available, although with the play area in full view I doubt any kiddies will be sitting in these for very long

Nearest station: West Ryde Station is close by

Mum’s report: It could get noisy with lots of people so might be best to check it out during the week.

Other handy info:

Open 7 days a week as well as taking bookings Monday – Friday

6.30am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday

7.00am – 3.00pm Saturday

8.00am – 3.00pm Sunday

The play area at the coffee playground is suitable for 1-5 year olds.

About Me

My name is Anna and I have a 2 year old daughter and currently work part time. On my days off and on weekends I’m usually in search of a great tasting and Instagram worthy coffee and meal (a child friendly venue is always a bonus).

I love to take travel, take photos, hang out with family and friends and have a good time . I’m always on the hunt for new things to do and places to visit and I look forward to sharing some of my experiences with you on Hello Sydney Kids

Thank you Anna!

Do you know any other great cafes we could share with Hello Sydney Kids readers?

Many thanks to The Coffee Playground for allowing us to use a few photos from their Facebook page.
