Davidson Park Roseville, Picnic, Walks and Swimming Baths on Middle Harbour

Davidson Park is a little slice of heaven just north of Roseville Bridge, on the shores of Middle Harbour Creek. Fear not that sharks may be cruising by whilst you picnic, there’s a small beach with a netted swimming area.  Very handy for the littlies.

Davidson Park Picnic Area is part of  Garigal National Park and so you need to pay for entry to the National Park.  There are pay and display machines in the car park, cost if $8 per vehicle per day.

If you are a member of the National Parks and Wildlife annual pass then you do not need to pay, of course.

On public holidays this picnic spot can become just a bit too popular, it can be murder to park although there’s always a spot to spread your picnic rug.

Davidson Park is open from 6am – 6pm daily, or until 8pm during daylight savings hours.

Apart from swimming, there’s heaps of natural areas to just run around and play sport in here.  There are also two boat ramps so this is a popular place to launch boats and kayaks and then to meander up the river.

You’ll find toilets, gas BBQs and picnic tables at Davidson Park.

There are walks around this park too, check out the NPWS website for more info.

I’ll catch you there one sunny Sydney summer’s day.  I’ll be the one lying under the shade of a beautiful tree whilst the kids run wild… in my dreams!

Where’s your favourite picnic spot?  Do you have any top tips on places that DON’T get too crowded on public holidays??

PS People do refer to this park as Roseville Bridge Park, and the pool as Roseville Baths, but really its proper name is Davidson Park and really it is in Forestville.
