GET THE KIDS OFF SCREENS AND INTO KIDS IN THE PARK
DAILY DURING THE SUMMER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AT SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK
With growing community concerns about children’s reliance on screen-based entertainment, Sydney Olympic Park’s renowned Kids in the Park school holiday activities program is the perfect remedy to get kids off their digital devices for more physical fun this summer!
From FREE Clue Trails, Crack the Code at the Armory and The Amazing Chase bike race, to good-value activity options at $25 or less such as Archery School Holiday Programs, Diving Clinics, Circus Skills and loads more, Kids in the Park is designed to suit all family budgets, ages and interests.
NEW to Kids in the Park, The Good Guys Super Hero Academy provides 90 minutes of FREE physical fun for ages 6-12 under the experienced direction of trainers from Circus Oz in a safe and non-competitive environment. Also NEW, FREE and ideal for nature-lovers of all ages, Riverside Birdlife will reveal how birds adapt to warm weather, find food during summer and keep cool at the heritage-listed Newington Armory.
For those with a creative streak, The Writing Workshop series at Bicentennial Park boasts five NEW activities: Hilarious Holidays, Epic Journeys and Poetry: Observation and Discovery; as well as two new workshops to equip grade 12 students with new skills and conceptual possibilities for their big year ahead. Run by former Chief Examiner of Extension English, Dr Felicity Plunkett, the HSC English Extension 2 Intensive and HSC Discovery Creative Writing workshops will give students the confidence needed to excel to their best during their HSC year.
Summer sports such as Cricket – Thunder Kids: T20, Basketball – MyHoops and Sports Camps Australia – Sprockets and Beginners BMX Camp are guaranteed to expend kids’ energy, and the FREE Apia International Sydney 2017 – Kids Tennis Day is also a highlight of the Kids in the Park summer 2016-17 program.
Sydney’s FREE outdoor family film festival, Movies by the Boulevard, will return for its sixteenth season of blockbuster cinema under stars at the iconic Cathy Freeman Park on various nights in January, including an extended Australia Day celebrations program with special screenings of Strictly Ballroom and Red Dog: True Blue.
Boasting more than 60 activity options in total, it is little wonder that Kids in the Park makes Sydney Olympic Park the official home of the BIGGEST range of school holiday activities of any single location in New South Wales!
Kids in the Park summer 2016-17 will operate every day of the summer school holidays, from Saturday 17 December until Sunday 29 January (inclusive).
