When we moved as a family to Sydney, hubby, myself and our oldest son who was then only 18 months old, we spent many, many mornings and afternoons at this playground.

Lyne Park Playground

A delightful large playground notable for its position on the water with fantastic views over to Shark Island and Manly. Most thrilling for young children are the sea planes which take off and land very close by.
A central area has excellent, modern and colourful play equipment with climbing areas, various slides, a huge seesaw, wooden play ship and sand play equipment. There are also swings and sit-on rockers. A junior structure also has sand play equipment and cubby and slide.
The grassed slopes are good for sitting on rugs and enjoying the views, looking at the planes and bobbing boats. There are some wooden benches for parents and carers by the central play area. The paved area is small, but there are plenty of paths in the rest of Lyne Park for bike and trike riding. Picnic tables are in the main park.

Ah I know it well. I spent lots of time there waiting for Mr Beach House to finish sailing. I was younger and in love then and used to go along to some of his sailing regattas. I’ve wised up now but I am intimate with many of Australia’s parks because of that and this is one of them.
