The Mantra Sun City, a Surfers Paradise Apartment Hotel – With A Water Slide!

I so wish I’d taken the kids with me on a recent trip to Surfers Paradise.

My four are all mad for a water slide, even the teens, and when I see a pool with a water slide, I can just picture myself lying there in a lounger reading the paper whilst they all splash around for hours.

And to be honest, I love a good water slide myself too and will always join the kids for a whoosh and a sploosh at some stage.

(Find all our our favourite Sydney water slides here.)

However, I was up at the Gold Coast for the annual Problogger blogging conference, so the kids weren’t invited. But next time I do know where to bring them, and I am 100% sure that a Gold Coast holiday would work well for a family like ours with teenagers and younger children.

But back to the hotel. My friend Annabel Candy and I were kindly hosted by the Mantra Sun City.  We stayed in the most magnificent three-bedroom sub penthouse apartment. It was huge, and had the most stupendous views.

Annabel’s bright dresses inspired me to look for some more colourful clothes for this summer.

My family is big and noisy and needs lots of space so this apartment would have worked well for us.

But since we didn’t have our families with us, Annabel and I invited our travel bloggers friends for a party, thanks mantra for providing drinks and nibbles. We’re a cheery crew, aren’t we?

My whinge?  Internet is not provided free, I know this is standard practice, but I do love a hotel that provides free internet.

The Mantra Sun City is a huge, impressive skyscraper. I was really taken with the spiky top, don’t you think it looks as if it’s straight out of Game of Thrones? Our apartment was right up there below the green of the front spike. Very glam.

The interior of the Mantra Sun City has an Aztec-inspired theme. Here are a few photos to show this off.

Love the lion fountain.

The lobby area is very comfortable too.

Food And Drink at The Mantra Sun City

There’s a very family-friendly restaurant on site, called the Koastal Kitchen. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The poolside bar serves drinks, snacks and light meals between 11am – 5pm daily, except in winter.

You can also order from room service; breakfast 7am – 10am and dinner from 6pm – 9pm daily.

Resort Facilities

Calmer Therapies Day Spa

(Yet again, I managed to have a break and NOT get to the day spa. It seems a feature of most of my trips – no good.)

Heated Indoor Pool and Spa

Outdoors lagoon Pool with Water Slide and Heated Spa

Fully equipped Gym

Tennis Court

Short walk to beach and to Cavill Avenue

Right alongside Surfers Paradise North Tram Stop

Here’s a map to show exactly where this apartment resort hotel is.

Now, what have I forgotten? Do ask any questions you might have.

I’ll be adding another post with some photos of the beach soon.

Until then, happy holiday planning.

Signature

Annabel and myself stayed as guests of the Mantra Sun City, many thanks to the hotel for having us. All views and opinions are my own.

And here are just another couple of views from the 36th floor!

  1. We stayed at the Mantra Crown Towers and I took the husband and kids with me to the conference too. The pools were fantastic.

I am surprised not more people stayed across the road at the Mantra as the price is great for what you get…however THE BEDS ARE REALLY REALLY BAD.
Our apartment was huge and wonderful, but the beds are like cement and really really need to go.
