It’s a very Merry Christmas from our family to you and yours.
2016 has certainly been a year of upheavals for us, with a lot of challenges (teenagers, I’m looking at you) but no actual criminal charges laid or expulsions carried through.
Worldwide there is turmoil and appalling acts of violence are commonplace. In 2017 I’m intending to continue to hold my elected representatives accountable; we pay them, they work for us and they need to be managed like any other employee.
‘Our leaders are but trusted servants, they do not govern’ is a quote I love.
Individuals are powerful, and nowhere more so than at home. So in ours, and I hope in yours, let kindness and compassion and tolerance and peace reign.
Here’s my favourite of the kids’ Sanskrit prayers from school:
‘May all be happy,
May all be without disease,
May all creatures have well being
And none be in misery of any sort
May peace and peace and peace by everywhere.’
Worth praying for….
Much love and have a very braw Hogmanay when it comes.
