Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre: Family Review With Lots of Photos

Hooray for Ryde Aquatic Centre, this is a fantastic swimming pool for families and one our family has visited on hot sunny days, on wet days and on many days in between.

There are so many fun areas for kids to enjoy, from the rapid river run to the waves when they come swooshing out. There’s also an excellent Giant Slide here that costs no extra to use.

Ryde Aquatic Centre, which my kids always call Ryde Pool, has many delights for the family.

The leisure lagoon has a baby’s pool and a cute short slide, there is a big rapid river run, a whirlpool, wave generator, statues and fountains.

The baby and toddler pool has lots of bubbly bubbles and a great big statue of cartoon creatures, fantastic!

For the braver preschoolers and older children the 56 metre waterslide is a great attraction, children are able to go down it with an adult if necessary.

The Surf Ryder is an undercover surfing experience which you do need to pay extra for. It’s for kids aged seven and over, you must be 90cm tall to have a go. Sessions last 30 minutes, cost $19.30 and include pool entry.

Mum’s report: It’s an up-to-the-minute swimming pool with the family’s needs catered for.  We just love the wave pool, it starts after lunchtime at the weekends and my kids cheer when it starts up.  I have to hang on to the little ones though!

Extra: There is a park and playground on the other side of the carpark.  Ryde Park is not too far away, read all about this lovely park with playgrounds, a terrific cafe and a great bike track on this Ryde Park post.

Livvi’s Place at Yamble Reserve in Ryde is another excellent playground.

Sadly, no! But Lane Cove is not far and the pools there include an outdoor one. There’s an article about it on Hello Sydney Kids, just have a wee look via the search bar. Cheers.
