The Belrose Hotel – Sydney’s Best Child-Friendly Cafes + Pubs

The Belrose Hotel, in Belrose in Sydney’s north, is a  family-friendly favourite, boasting Sydney’s large indoor playground in a hotel. Here’s our review of this great place to eat with kids.

One of Northern Sydney’s best family-friendly hotels has had a revamp. We know The Belrose Hotel well as we live fairly close by and have visited many times.

The Belrose Hotel’s soft play playground has two sections, one for younger children and one for older.

We would tend to get there early as it could get very busy in the kids’ play area and in the seating area with hard floor and tables.

The revamp has divided up the open spaces a bit and I don’t think noise will be quite the issue it was.

I like the carpeted quieter area now that my children are older and less likely to throw food all over the floor!

Now with waiter service rather than the bistro-style it was before, the Belrose Hotel also has a brand new menu, it’s a bit healthier too.

The Belrose is an immensely practical place for families with young children. As well as the play areas, there are lots of very wipeable tables and chairs plus a hard floor in the main bistro area; spills food dropped on the floor isn’t a major disaster.

Mums’ groups and families often come here for coffees, cakes and play during the day.

Menu: Classic, upmarket pub grub like burgers, grills, pasta, seafood and salads with a healthy twist.  Desserts are frozen yoghurt rather than ice cream.  Read the menu on the website here.

Toilets/ Baby change: Yes, good family room with changing facilities and a microwave.

Highchairs:  Yes, plenty

Children’s Menu: Yes, a Little Foodies section has steak, grilled fish, free range chicken breast nuggets and more.

Mum’s report: Excellent option on a rainy day, although it can get busy.  My kids enjoy the food. It’s a great option when meeting with friends for a meal, especially if there are children of different ages.

Map:  See the Google Map here.

Parking: Hotel has large carpark

Bus stop nearby: Yes
