Day Out with Thomas

Where: NSW Rail Museum, 10 Barbour Road, Thirlmere

Thomas and Friends return to the NSW Rail Museum for a feature-packed weekend of family fun. Meet The Fat Controller as he oversees all of the exciting activities on offer! Day Out With Thomas is a great outing for the entire family…and don’t forget the grandparents!

  • Ride Toby the Railmotor from Sodor Station up to the Roundhouse

RSPCA Million Paws Walk 2019

When: Sunday 19 May, 9am – 2pm

Where: Cathy Freeman Park, Sydney Olympic Park

The Million Paws Walk is a fun-filled day for the whole family, packed with entertainment and activities for dogs and dog-lovers alike. It doesn’t matter if you have a pooch or not – come along and join the fun! Whether you’re walking solo or joining a fundraising team, be a part of this wonderful day and help raise much-needed funds for the RSPCA. Registrations open at 9 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m. The Million Paws Walk at Sydney Olympic Park is about more than just the walk.

It’s going to be a fun and engaging day out, whether you have two legs or four! The day will be jam packed with entertainment, live music, competitions, delicious food for you and your furry friend and plenty of shopping and fun to be had. Come and join us at Australia’s biggest Doggy Day Out!

Vivid Sydney – Kiddo Disco – Astro Robo Let’s Glow!

When: Saturday 25 May, Saturday 1 June, Saturday 8 June, Saturday 15 June, 5.30pm – 7.30pm

Where: Home The Venue, 101/1-5 Wheat Road, Cockle Bay Wharf

Get your astro robot moves and glow on with special glow in the dark dance floor, face painting, food and games. For kids aged 2-12 and their dancey dance families. Wear white or neon brights to get your Vivid Music glow on.

Kiddo Disco’s super energetic dancers and DJ’s give the kids dancing lessons, as well as playing games and providing a dynamic and engaging visual aspect for kids and parents alike. It is the uplifting, positive, kid-focused tunes that drive the energy of Kiddo Disco, with Kate at the helm on the turntables, and the dancer’s characters that are developed for our specialty shows. Each Kiddo Disco party is themed and encourages families to engage in the creative aspects of going to a dress up disco.

Home The Venue is a renowned Sydney institution where everyone has a story from its dance floors. With over 6,000 patrons going to Home each and every week, Home is a rite of passage for all local and international 18+ music lovers. But after 20 years of catering to adults, we’re opening its doors to the tiny dancers with Kiddo Disco. Partnering Home The Venue and Kiddo Disco for Vivid gives families a chance to take advantage of a great location right next to Tumbalong Park and all the Vivid installations in the area, as well as a top notch safe environment to dance the night away with the family.

Family Sunday at the State Library

When: Sunday 26 May, 10.30am – 3pm

Where: State Library of New South Wales, Macquarie Street, Sydney

Join us for a full day of family fun at the State Library on 26 May, 10.30am to 3pm.

Workshops with not one but two celebrated children’s authors, adventure tours in our exhibitions, portrait drawing workshops, storytime for preschoolers and creative activities in the beautiful John B Fairfax Learning Centre. Introduce your children to the oldest Library in Australia with a whole day of family fun.

Authors include R. A. Spratt and Catherine Pelosi.

Fast Jets and Amazing Pilots

When: Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 10:30 AM – 1 PM

Where: Nirimba TAFE College, Warawara Circuit, Quakers Hill

Join us to meet with amazing pilots who build and fly large scale jet aircraft models.

Ever dreamt of flying fast jets? What about a jet fighter, F16, F18 or maybe an L39 or MIG29? Did you make aircraft models as a kid and have always enjoyed watching aircraft go through their paces?

If so, you’re going to love the Jet Aircraft Models event we’re arranging for you, courtesy of SkyAces RC. 

Join us at Quakers Hill in Sydney on Sunday 16th June to meet with amazing pilots who build and fly large scale jet aircraft models flying at 400 km/hour, coming into land at 90 km/hour with a perfectly sweet touch down. You’ll get up close with the aircraft and talk through their construction and technology with the pilots and watch them perform.

Inner West Brick Fair

When: Sunday 30 June 2019, 10am – 2pm

Where: Croydon Public School, 39 Young St, Croydon

With incredible builds to view, food and entertainment, this is a must-see for Brick fans of all ages. View dozens of unique fan creations from over 20 master builders from the not-for-profit Sydney Lego Users Group. Ask the exhibitors questions about their collections and building techniques. Keep an eye out for one of our builders who you may recognise from recent TV shows!

Get creative in the Lego free build brick pit. Or purchase some new or old Lego including current and newly-released sets, collectibles, engraved bricks and vintage sets. There will also be jumping castles, face painting, quick-build competitions, guessing competitions, food and refreshments and much more!
