Claris the Mouse High Tea at the Sofitel

When: Saturday afternoon 1-4pm until 13 October 2019

Every Saturday afternoon through October, indulge in an exquisite experience with an exclusive afternoon tea inspired by Australian fashion illustrator Megan Hess and her acclaimed children’s book, Claris, the Chicest Mouse in Paris.

With her intimate understanding of Parisian chic and prestigious collaborations with Chanel, Dior, Cartier and Tiffany and Co, Megan Hess was the perfect creative mind to bring this unique experience to life.

Give in to the irresistible treats created by our Pastry Chef as Atelier by Sofitel is transformed into a wonderful world of tea cups, French pastries, delicate choux, chocolate-coated madeleines and pastel macarons – all served on Megan Hess’ specially designed, limited-edition fine porcelain plates with matching cutlery.

Sydney Fringe Festival

When: 1 – 30 September 2019

Where: A variety of venues in the CBD, The Rocks, Inner West

Fringe celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and continues to highlight Sydney’s vibrant culture, with a diverse program of performance, exhibitions and large-scale events spanning music, theatre, comedy, visual art, film, dance, circus, literature and poetry. More than 342 shows will be offered including 120 world premieres, 129 Australian premieres and a further 38 Sydney premieres across 1360 performance sessions.

There are a mixture of shows needing tickets plus plenty of free options.

The Rocks Hub is a particularly family-friendly venue. Every Friday to Sunday throughout September come wander the streets and laneways to explore shows, performances, eclectic market stalls and other hidden surprises.

Every Saturday Aerialize’s Pop Up Circus School will teach you how to juggle and hula hoop (First Fleet Park 11am – 3pm). Or gather round for storybook tales at the Story Tree (Foundation Park 2pm – 4pm).

Buzz Train Play

When: Sunday 6 October 2019 at 10am.

Where: Lindfield Girl Guides Hall, Two Turners Reserve, Gladstone Parade, Lindfield

Buzz Train Play is set to be one of the best activities for kids in Sydney!

We create the largest and most exciting track that your child has ever seen and then provide them with a motorised train. They will watch in wonder as their train makes its way around metres of track, over bridges and through tunnels. 

The venue is located on a large piece of fully fenced land that includes an all ages play area.  

Suitable for under 5 year olds.

Ryde Brick Fair

When: Sunday 15 September 2019, 9am – 4pm

Where: Ryde East Public School, 12 Twin Rd, North Ryde

The LEGO master builders of Sydney (SydLUG) are throwing open their LEGO lairs to show just what is possible when you don’t follow the instructions! Get up close and inspired with some of Australia’s greatest LEGO masterpieces before diving into the brick pit where the only limit is your imagination.

Come for the World’s favourite brick, then stay and play with LEGO remote control cars, BBQ, cake stall and more. Everything WILL be awesome.

St Ives Medieval Faire

Each September, St Ives Showground is transformed into a world of grand tournaments, lavish food, and brave knights. We call on loyal subjects of all ages to visit and explore this captivating experience. Immerse yourself in the Medieval Village, savour traditional fare at the Tilt & Counter Tavern, stroll through the market stalls of authentic artisans, and witness knights vying for glory in grand tournaments. Whatever your fancy, you’ll find sights, sounds and experiences to delight, enchant and amaze at the St Ives Medieval Faire.

Remember your ticket is all-inclusive; the premium jousting tournament, battlefield shows, a living medieval village with workshops all day, spectacular birds of prey in full flight, kids’ shows and experiences. Once you are inside the gate all the main attractions and workshops are included.

Oz Comic-Con

Where: Sydney Showground, 1 Showground Road, Sydney Olympic Park

celebration of pop culture, securing a permanent place in the hearts of pop culture fans
across all genres.

Offering something for everyone, Oz Comic-Con features appearances from film and
television stars, comic writers and illustrators, voice actors, gaming tournaments and
freeplay opportunities, activations from film studios and partners, industry panels and
workshops, and exclusive merchandise that can’t be found anywhere else.

Truly an event for all ages, kids can leave their mark on MARVEL’s colouring wall, spark their
creative desires in a range of kids comic artist workshops and walk tall in the Kids Cosplay
Parade.

Pudding Day

Where: Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum, 14 Norman Lindsay Cres, Faulconbridge

Spot On Children’s Festival 2019

Riverside has gathered some of the best children’s entertainment from across the country for our eighth annual Spot On Children’s Festival. The five-day festival will feature a fantastic line-up of theatre, musical performances, film and free activities to keep your kids entertained.

Spot On Children’s Festival sparks imaginations and allows children and their carers to explore the world of the arts, delve into stories of magical creatures and places near and far and experience the power of live performance and dynamic cinema.
