Frenchman’s Bay Beach

Frenchmans Bay Beach

Anzac Parade and Endeavour Avenue

La Perouse 2036

This beach runs along a lovely curving bay with expansive views out to sea and across to Port Botany. There is a reserve behind the beach and the road is close only at the southern end. The beach is quite narrow and slopes gently, so there is lots of space for running around in the water. Dinghies and windsurfers at the southern end can attract great attention from the little ones. There are picnic tables and barbecues on the reserve.

Cafe: Cafe on the beach at the southern end.

Toilets: Toilet block in the reserve Shade: Not on the beach, but under trees in the reserve

Mum’s report: What a lot to offer. Walk up the hill behind the museum and check out the view, explore the rocky edges of the point, play on the beach, and bring your own food or use the fairly good selection of takeaways.

Extra: La Perouse Museum is very close, and historic Bare Island Fort; both are part of Botany Bay National Park. Phone 9311 3379 for details. The Snakemen of La Perouse does snake shows on Sundays at 1.30pm.
