Don’t buy your loved one a boring gift of something they don’t need! Send him or her surfing or up in a helicopter or on a jet boat ride instead! Become a Taronga Zoo Friend, or set sail on the high seas! When it comes to gift experiences, Sydney has a dizzying array of cool adventures on offer.
You can find fantastic experience gifts for kids, just buy the voucher and then take the children to do something they will never forget… unlike most toys which are pretty forgettable.
Here’s our family’s list of fun experiences for kids and adults in Sydney, things that we can recommend ourselves, we’ve tried them all… actually, I tell a lie, parachuting is still a to-do.
We’ll start off with the gift experiences for kids, although many adults will love coming along for the fun of it too.

BridgeClimb Sydney
Yes, it’s a bit of a Sydney cliche, some might say, but honestly climbing the Bridge is famous for a reason. The views are superb and it really is a massive thrill. Expensive, yes we know… but I don’t know anyone who said it wasn’t worth it.
Most climbs take around 3 1/2 hours, though there are shorter versions. Climb at dawn, by day or at twilight, you can even climb at night. Give the gift of views… and a racing heart at times!
Cost: from $268

20 Minute Sydney Coast & Skyline Helicopter Flight
Ouch, this is an expensive one, but honestly, it will never be forgotten. I took a helicopter ride over Sydney when newly arrived more than 25 years ago and I can still remember it vividly. The beaches look so amazing from above and whirling around the city centre is a singular and singularly heart-stopping experience too.
Cost: $190
