Hyams Beach Store + Cafe: Jervis Bay’s Best Cafes

Shhh…. don’t tell everyone about this cafe…. just the people you love best.

This is one of my very favourite fave cafes at Jervis Bay.

It’s the Hyams Beach Store and Cafe, a glorious little spot.

Now, I must admit that I much prefer coming here without the four boisterous bairns in tow. For a start, it’s much cheaper to visit just with one or two and a lovely friend.

And so much more civilised!

Hyams Beach Store and Cafe has recently been taken over again by its original owners and is going great guns. It serves breakfast and lunches, plus there is takeaway and a shop.

When my children were little, we always would come for coffees and ice blocks after a swim and play at dazzling Hymans Beach.  We’d sit at the tables on the deck at the front of the building and not cause any chaos or mayhem to the diners inside.

With coffee of course.

(See menus on the website.)

There are high chairs for children, and plenty of suitable food options. There’s no children’s menu as such however you can ask for a child’s portion of some of the dishes.

And before or after, a play on the whitest sands in the world is a must. The beach is just a short potter away, down the road and turn left.

There’s a path that goes all the way from Huskisson and Vincentia to Hyams Beach, past some stunning beaches and through gorgeous bush. Walking that is the ideal way to build up an appetite for breakfast or lunch at Hyams Beach Cafe.

However, you’re on holidays so why not just drive!!

On this visit, I am thrilled to report, I took just one small daughter and a lot of little toys.

Ahh… how I wish I were back there right now, hanging out with my old mate Kate, from Huskisson’s most child-friendly B + B, the very pretty Huskisson Bed and Breakfast.

How long away are the Easter holidays anyway?

Oh wow, I’m now feeling REALLY hungry. How great is it when you find a place you love. Ella and I have a cafe that we call our own now. She loves it because she gets two marshmallows with her babyccino! 🙂
