Incinerator Cafe is a terrific spot on Sydney’s North Shore. Its close proximity to the excellent playground at Hallstrom Park, and also to Willoughby Leisure Centre means that it’s a very popular spot with local families.
This is a top spot to meet with friends for a play and a coffee, or a lunch after a play or a swim. Incinerator Cafe has lovely modern decor indoors and a pleasant space outside too.

Incinerator Cafe website here – check current menus here.
Opening hours: Daily from 7am until 4pm and serves breakfast (7am until 11.30am) and lunch (12 noon until 2.30pm) always best to check on the website to ensure these are still current.
You can sit at shaded tables outside, which was definitely my choice the day we visited as I do love breakfast with a view.
The inside is a bit more crowded, mothers groups may need to leave strollers outside.
This historic building, and yes, it was an Incinerator, was designed by Walter Burley Griffin. IT’s been transformed into an art gallery on the lower level, with this cafe on the upper level.
You can get takeaway food and coffees here, ideal for taking down to the playground. It’s a licensed venue too.
Warning! It does get absolutely chockfull some weekends… and parking can be difficult, see below.
High chairs: Yes

It looks very arty indeed. I love how old structures are being renewed for a different purpose.

PS Hope you are surviving the holidays so far.
We’ve run away, the twins and I, up to the Crowne Plaza Resort in the Hunter Valley… they’re a bit wild though. We must make a date for the Pelican Caro.
