The revamped Novotel Sydney International Airport makes a super handy place to stay with the family when coming or going from Sydney Airport. The Stay, Park + Fly packages can really help holidays start and end more smoothly, and work well pricewise too.
The Family Friendly Novotel Sydney International Airport
Right… hmm… what’s the most important thing for families when choosing an airport hotel? Well, high up the list has to be proximity and low travel times. The Novotel Sydney International Airport is located just 1km from the International terminal. It takes just five minutes to get there, excellent for the early morning flight I’m booked onto when I spend a night here.
Then there’s the very popular Stay, Park & Fly package offering overnight accommodation, 7 nights parking and return shuttle to the airport. With the Blue Emu Car Park charging $150 for the 7 night stay I need, using the package makes a lot of sense, and there are no waits for the bus or bumpy journeys to get to the airport… actually from my experience, it’s the journey to the Blue Emu AFTER the holiday that’s the worst. Everyone just wants to get home.
Novotel is a brand that always welcomes families and ensures there are fun things to do. The kids’ corner here has a gaming machine, books and a TV and beanbags to flop into.
There’s also a small pool available for guests to use. It’s actually in the building next door, just 100 metres away. This outdoor pool is small but it has terrific views over the airport and Cahill Park. Yes, there’s a park just beside the hotel, great if kids need to run off a head of steam after a car trip.
Cahill Park has a large kid friendly playground, perfect for some play time whilst parents sit on the benches overlooking Cooks River and Sydney Airport.
Family Rooms at the Novotel Sydney International Airport
There are some Family Rooms at this Novotel, with one king size bed and two single beds. Check family rooms here.
The Superior Rooms are the cheapest though, and can be configured with two double beds, handy if you have two young children. Check them out here.
Rooms are spacious with good bathrooms, tea and coffee and mini bars. Wifi is not free (depending on your package) – shocking if you have teenagers!
Where To Eat + Drink at The Novotel Sydney Airport
Seasons Café, Restaurant & Bar is a cool spot with its pink velvet sofas and lush pops of green. The dinner menu specialises in a paddock to plate concept with a relaxed ambience, perfect for some family fun, staff are very welcoming to kids.

Stay, Park & Fly Packages
If you have an early flight and need to leave the car at the airport, I think the Stay, Park and Fly deals work out really well.
The deal includes:
- one nights accommodation and
- 7 nights parking with options to extend.
- 2 adults and 2 kids (under 16) receive free breakfast
- shuttle service to the airport, five minutes away
This package keeps life very simple, which is what you need when travelling with children. It can also save you money when you need to park the car and you need an airport hotel.

How to Book
When travelling with kids, I often call the hotel ahead to explain exactly what we need in terms of beds and rooms. I like feeling as if I am talking to real people and getting the best advice! So I’d recommend you either email the hotel at h5603-re1@accor.com or call +61 2 9518 2000 to chat to the team about your proposed stay.
You can see the Novotel Sydney Airport’s own website here and of course bookings can be made direct there too.
