Where to begin when looking at Port Stephens holiday parks? There are literally dozens in the Port Stephens area (click here for post about Things To Do at Port Stephens)!
Well, let us help by telling you all about a recent weekend stay at The Retreat Port Stephens at beautiful Anna Bay.
Here’s an image showing you where The Retreat is in relation to the whole of Port Stephens. At the end of this post you will find the interactive Google map which shows a much closer up view.
The Retreat is in Anna Bay, just a few minutes away from the shops and village centre and from beautiful Birubi Beach with all it’s attractions.
Things To Do At The Retreat
For families, I think that the facilities at a holiday park are as important as the sleeping spaces.
At The Retreat there’s a good playground, much enjoyed by my daughter.
There’s also an outdoor pool, I had a chase around with the kids there and enjoyed reading in a lounger too, all too briefly.
Beside the pool is a terrific indoor Games Room with pool tables, table tennis, fuse ball and more.
Below you’ll see the volleyball area, and outdoor table tennis.
From April – September you can enjoy camp fires too.
The Retreat is a fairly small holiday park, this is great when you have kids as it’s easier to keep an eye on them than at some huge holiday parks.
There’s still plenty of space to run and play at The Retreat though. Also, we really enjoyed feeling as if we were in the bush itself, the grounds are kept well.
Accommodation at The Retreat
We stayed in one of the bungalows which have two bedrooms, plus a very spacious kitchen and sitting area. The bungalows sleep up to six guests. There are also cabins which are great for couples, though they can sleep up to five.
There are two Duplexes which sleep 16 guests each too, plus The Ranch which sleeps 6 – 10 guests.
