Stand by, there’s a feast ahead… and it’s a Frozen one. So festive and fun.

If you have children who adore the movie Frozen and are excited about this summer’s release of the Disney featurette Olaf’s Frozen Adventure on December 26th then this yummy high tea is for you.
The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is laying on a delicious Frozen inspired spread, available between 11am and 5pm from now until 31st January.
The Children’s Frosted High Tea is for kids aged 3 – 12 years, a Frozen activity kit is included. Bookings are required.

Once seated in the elegant Soiree cafe, we are offered drinks. The twins choose hot chocolate and for me it’s a pot of delicious Earl Grey (the tea menu is huge.)
The tall cake stands are brought out shortly afterwards, and we have to restrain ourselves to get some photos taken.

Frosted High Tea Costs
$29 per child (this is great value.)
$65 per adult (not cheap but you won’t need any other meals for a long while.)

A Night of Luxury at the Sofitel
Now I am a very deserving mother, really, I work very hard and am highly committed. And exhausted.
One of my deep joys and great treats is to spend a night in luxury, far from Casa Chaos.
The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth kindly had us to stay in one of their Superior Rooms for the night.
The twins are FAR less deserving, but they were invited too.
I told them that they MUST behave…. they didn’t, of course, dreadful bickering, but at least they kept the noise down.

It’s breakfast time and we tumble out of bed and down in the (very efficient) lift to feast again. The breakfast menu has a decidedly healthy feel, with all sorts of freshly squeezed juices, yoghurts and mini smoothies available, plus all the delights of this five star hotel’s buffet.
The view of the courtyard is lovely, the coffee refreshing. We stayed for ages, nibbling away.
Family Stays At The Sofitel
The Sofitel is one of Sydney’s grand hotels and generally has a room rate to match. However, business travel slows over the summer and the prices are often lower.
The hotel is in an EXCELLENT location, just a hop skip and a jump from The Museum of Sydney, The Justice and Police Museum, Circular Quay, the Opera House and the Botanic Gardens.
Its one drawback as a family hotel is that it has no swimming pool.
NB The beds at the Sofitel have the SOFTEST and BEST mattress toppers. It was hard to drag myself out of bed…. a joy to collapse on.

Thank you so much for hosting us, kind folks at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. This mum was tired at the end of a long school year and was fortified by your luxe hospitality.
Thanks for having my exuberant twins too, they really did love the Frosted High Tea and our walks around the city. Such a change from our life in the Sydney suburbs.
