Here’s a list of Sydney venues that are terrific for teenage birthday parties, some are a bit costly, but there are also some ideas which are cheap and cheerful too.
Tip: always call the venue prior to booking to discuss with them your precise needs. It’s also good to ask about best times for parties as some venues may be super busy which can be quite annoying.

VR Escape Room | Escape Games Sydney
Teenagers will love getting together in groups to play a virtual reality game where teamwork will help solve the games and keep the group working through the levels.
Wearing a headset, each teen is transported to a virtual world where they can move around, touch and move items. It really is another world.
Entermission is Sydney's only virtual reality rooms which has hand tracking instead of controllers held in the hand. There are also realistic special effects at Entermission, there's the smell of gunpowder and smoke, with heat and the wind on the kids' face.

TreeTop Adventure Park Sydney - The Hills: Jittering On The Junior Courses
Organise your own party at one of the two Treetops Adveture locations in Sydney or book one of their organised parties. Adventurous teenagers will find a challenge to suit them on these courses, and this is a thrilling and safe way for teens to get a healthy burst of adrenaline!

Indoor Skydiving for kids at iFly Downunder Sydney West
Indoor skydiving is quite an adventure and can be pretty scary for younger children however it's a terrific option for daring teenagers. There's a training period where you will receive some 1:1 instruction before the flight and then the flight itself. The cost of this activity is high, however it includes the hire of suit, helmet and goggles and video footage of the flights.

Luna Park Teen Parties & Fun Activities
Luna Park is a fabulous venue for teenagers. They can run around in a pack there for many hours with an unlimited pass and will never complain. There are rides to suit all types of teenagers, and the parents can relax, just a phone call away.
Where: Milsons Point Sydney
Cost: You can simply buy an Unlimited Pass for each teenager for $50 per ticket and then buy the kids some food there or take your own picnic.

Smash Room Parties
Popup Picnic Birthday Parties
A styled and/or catered picnic in one of Sydney's stunning parks can make a memorable birthday party for a teenager, and yes, this can mean the boys as well as the girls.
There are several Sydney picnic companies which can do it all for you, one example is Pretty Popup Picnics. The cost is $120 for 10-15 people, this includes rugs, cushions, tables, table cloths, table ornaments, drink dispenser and stand. This price is for pick up from Willoughby however, delivery is available for an extra fee. You need to do the set-up yourself.
Where: a park to suit your teens, how about Neilsen Park or Clifton Gardens or Parramarra Lake in summer for kids who enjoy a swim? Or try a park which has a challenging playground, you'll find several on this website. Sydney's many harbour pools can also be great for picnics too, try Little Manly Cove or Northbridge Baths. A backyard is also great, of course.

Throw A Party at Home In Style
How about a party in your own backyard that feels really special. You can easily rent a marquee, chairs and tables and it does not even have to cost a fortune.
Add some sparkling lights, plenty of tunes and teenagers will enjoy dancing the night away. You can make your own food, hire a caterer, or just order in some pizzas.

Escape Room Parties for Teenagers
Teenagers who are great at solving puzzles will enjoy an escape room party. There are many venues around Sydney, I like the idea of combining an escape room with some bowling so think that these ones by Strike are a great idea.

Cost: Escape room pricing is around $34pp for six or more people. But contact Strike to see what sort of bowling, food and escape room packages they can offer your family.
A Sydney Snorkelling Adventure Party
If you are an experienced snorkeller yourself and all invited teenagers can swim well, how about taking them for a snorkel tour to meet some Sydney sea life. There are many options for this, but Shelly Beach at Manly is easy as you can hire snorkelling equipment nearby if you need to (or book a guided snorkel tour.)

Sydney Trapeze School Parties
Flying high in the sky on a trapeze would be a thrill for many teenagers, as would learning some circus skills.
Sydney Trapeze School offers parties and although the website page you can link to here looks aimed at younger children, do have a browse and then give a ring to chat through your teenagers needs.

Go Karting and Paintball
Spitfire Indoor Go Karting and Paintball: My older boys just loved being invited to paintball parties, and here you can add in go karting too. I must admit that I never threw either a go karting or a paintballing party myself for them, must do better with my two younger children who are now teenagers too.

Cost: Go karting from $33pp, paintballing from $75pp
Combination packages with private use of go mark track, private paintball field hire and unlimited paintballs costs $1950 (gulp) for 12 people then $50pp for each additional person.

Teen Disco Birthday Parties For Younger Teens
Use your own house or hire a cheap and cheerful community hall to throw a disco party. The multi award-winning company Bop Til You Drop can organise a teens party for kids aged 9 - 14 years. They send a DJ, PA system ad lights, a microphone for the teens can do some karaoke and a huge selection of music.
The entertainer/DJ can teach dance moves, and will work with the birthday teen to choose music and activities to suit.
