The Outrigger Fiji – New Adults-Only Pool and Bar *sighs and goes to hang out the washing

outrigger fiji adults only areaWhen I was at uni, me and my pal Rosie always had a map on the wall. A ‘You Are Here’ arrow pointed to Oxford.  ‘But You Wish You Were Here’ arrows pointed to many parts of the world, mainly tropical.

Here on a wintery day in Sydney, I’m wishing I was back at the Outrigger On The Lagoon in Fiji.

At the new adults-only complex, very specifically… and even more specifically… floating about in that pool clutching a mocktail.

You might remember – did I mention – my husband and I treated the kids to a great family holiday there last year. I’m delighted that the review of the kids club that I wrote – find it here – gets hundreds of hits a month.

(There just aren’t enough detailed kids club reviews on the internet, I’m telling you.)

We did have a lovely time, all of us. I was so lazy I couldn’t be bothered going to the spa….

Anyway, I’ve heard that there’s now an adults-only are at the Outrigger, with a 20m lap pool, a 35m lagoon pool and a swim-up bar and bistro.

So now, I’m wishing I was there… with the twins joyfully at the kids club and the teenagers playing guitar by the main resort pool.

How peaceful does that look?

That’s a long way from how my house looks just now!  I can’t see any piles of dirty washing there, no dishwashers needing unloaded.

Ah well, don’t mind me… just a thought and now I must think about a meal plan and who’s taking whom to rugby league training.

Ahhhhhh, the tropics. We’re just back from Malaysia, and I’m holiday-sick. That’s a thing where you miss holidays, right? This looks beautiful. After a full-on travelling holiday, we might just need some Fiji relaxation next time!

I shall be popping over, love orang utans… isn’t there a difference between travelling and holidays, both have their place… I do miss the real travelling a lot, our kids not great travellers at all. Am I the real mother?!

I’m hoping in 5 years or so (boo hoo so long) we might be able to take our three on a family holiday, and Fiji would be the pick for now – unless some unknown relo bequests us their fortune! Thanks for links Seana xx

Hi Seana,I’m freezing my buns off today (god, this house can get cold) so dreaming of anywhere warmer. Those photos look very inviting. And I love a good kids club so will be sure to check out your review.

Hello there, our house is chilly today too, just been outside and the sun is warm but it’s freezing inside. Hasn’t winter gone on long enough already????

I sure do wish I was in Fiji. What’s the accommodation like at The Outrigger? Do they have apartments? I do hate having to either book extra rooms or have us all in the same room. We usually stat at the Hilton because they have beautiful apartments xx

  5. Oh I loved the Outrigger in Fiji, such a lovely and relaxing holiday! We may have to put it back on the holiday list. Your map is awesome! I am going to have to put one up for myself 😉

I’m tucked in bed with my flanny jim jams on while I read this “tropical” post. I love Outrigger Hotels. We stayed at the one in Waikiki…happy memories!
