Thermomix Smoothies – Banana and Cinnamon Smoothie

Banana cinnamon smoothie 2 copy

Here’s one of my kids’ favourite Thermomix smoothies. This is a breakfast staple at our house.

It’s a very simple recipe, which is handy as I’m often feeling quite simple myself in the mornings.

Life is complicated enough without complicating breakfast.

Top tip: always have some chunks of banana in the freezer.

Thermomix Smoothies – Banana and Cinnamon Smoothies

2 small bananas
250 ml milk (one cup)
1 tbs thick plain yoghurt
¼ tsp cinnamon
a couple of walnuts if you fancy
one Medjool date if you fancy

Blend in the Thermomix for 40 seconds at speed 7

This makes about 500ml which is enough for two children or one hungry adult.

We love how foamy the Thermie makes our smoothies. It makes a much lighter smoothie than one made using a stick blender.

Spices are full of antioxidants – but please don’t tell the kids how good this is for them. They still think it’s a treat.

I’d love to hear your favourite kids’ smoothie combination.

Just leave a comment, I’d love to give some new smoothie recipes a whirl.

Happy slurping

  1. I’m starting to think I’m the only person on the planet without a Thermomix but I do love creating rainbow coloured smoothies in my blender. I’ve just discovered the benefit of dates this week for adding a whole lot of natural sweetness, yum!

Yes, it’s fab to have a date or two in the fridge to chuck in. I add a walnut very often too as one of my kids is a shocker at eating nuts and I wish he’d have them more. I like a walnut or an almond in my own smoothies too. I’ve got some spinach frozen as well to chuck in when I remember.

Other blenders do work fine too – I use my Thermomix a lot but they are ridiculously expensive.

Oh Seana this looks so delish … and not too difficult (which is good for me as I shy away from anything complicated in the kitchen – specially early mornings!). We’ve just started juicing, which I’m loving and I seem to think I’m sleeping better which might mean I wasn’t getting enough minerals in my diet before. So smoothies could be the next step. More recipes please 🙂
