So what do you do at Jervis Bay on a rainy day? Well, a visit to the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre always works for us.
When the kids were little, we often used to pack them into the car and scoot up the road to the Bay and Basin.
You might also hear this place referred to as Vincentia swimming pool or Vincentia aquatic centre, but it’s definitely called the Bay and Basin Aquatic Centre.
The 40m long slide is a huge attraction for kids, and the pools themselves are good too. We have found this indoor pool complex a lifesaver on frying hot days as well as rainy ones, by the way, especially when our children were little.

At the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre you will find four indoor pools: a 25m pool, great for laps; leisure pool with beach entry; spa pool and a toddler pool. 40m slide too! My kids always loved the sprays and bubbles very much!
There is a cafe near the pool, plus a sports shop. The Leisure Centre also has a gym and classes, casual rates may apply and there is child minding too.
So, if you don’t fancy a trip to the movies, I might catch you here on the next wet weekend at Jervis Bay.
