I have stayed up at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast and was most impressed both by the pools and by the playground. Both are super family-friendly, my children would love a visit here.
Sadly for them, but less so for me, I was attending the Problogger Event. No children were accompanying i.e. brain fully functioning. So my kids haven’t tested these facilities out, but I have an expert eye and I’m telling you this resort is good for kids and their families.
The playground is huge and it’s fully enclosed by a childproof fence with gates.
The fencing is around the top of the dip that the playground sits in, so it all feels very natural.
Little kids can bike and trike around the track there.
There’s great equipment for all sorts of ages to play around.
RACV Royal Pines Pools
The RACV Royal Pines has a large leisure pool, with these terrific kids slides.
Sunrise by the pool – sigh….
There’s a great area for lounging around – which I never managed to lounge around on. Next time.
Another shot of the slides – obsessed, moi? Good to have the lap lanes there too, for we serious (sort of) swimmers.
There’s also a spa pool – who doesn’t love a warm bubbly pool?
There’s a kids splash pool alongside the leisure pool.
It was in need of a bit of a brush on both occasions when I visited.
In excellent news, a water playground is going to be built too, opening next March/April. I’ll add photos of that to this post once it’s done.
My husband’s turning into a mad golfer, so I can see the entire family would be happy here. The rooms are plush too and the food was excellent.
And here’s a bonus photo from my window, looking out over the golf course that surrounds the resort.

So there you go. How dedicated am I to check out the pools and playground even though I was there alone??!!
It looks a good spot for families. Now… if only they’d add in a kids club…..
Any questions about this resort?
And we’d love to hear about your own favourite resort pool and/or playground?
I was blown away by this resort Seana. Admittedly we don’t often stay in such a place, but now I know what I’m missing. I didn’t view it as a family destination, but you are so right! The food at the conference was mind boggling and it absorbed the 700 of us so well. I shout Royal Pines praises wherever I can (and Problogger) the organization was amazing.
This is my favourite hotel on the Gold Coast – plus the hairdresser Raymond is amazing. Great hotel.
