Here’s a local hero for us, this is our nearest pool. Warringah Aquatic Centre is great for summer especially, but fine for a bit of exercise in winter too.

Open: Monday–Friday 5.30am–9pm, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 7am–6pm. Outdoor pools closed in winter. Under fives free.
Pools: Indoors—50 metre pool with deep diving area attached. Outdoors—toddler pool, 25 metre pool.
The lovely outdoor complex here is great in the summertime for kids. It has lots of lawn and is enclosed, so children cannot zoom into the indoors area. The toddler pool is separated from the 25 metre pool by a fence, so it is escape proof and very safe.
The indoor pool is very big, with lots of spectator seating. It’s fine for lessons in the winter but not so good for leisure swims for the young ones as there is no special toddler area and no very shallow wading area.
The pool is usually divided into two 25 metre halves, with the lessons taking place at the shallow end.
