Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Centre

The new Hornsby Aquatic and Leisure Centre is great for families. This modern pool complex, completed in 2014, is located next to leafy Hornsby Park.

Open: Monday–Thursday 5.30am–7.45pm; Saturday–Sunday 7am–6.45pm, except Christmas, Boxing and New Year’s Day, and Good Friday. Under threes free.

The pools:  Outside is a 50 metre heated pool, with eight lanes for lap swimming. The shaded grandstand has a gorgeous views of Old Mans Valley.

Indoors, there’s a 25 metre learn to swim pool plus a heated wade-in splash pool with a row of water spouts and water fun for younger children. Kids love the 2 metre high fully enclosed water slide!

Café Plunge is open for breakfast, lunch and snacks. It’s fully licensed; also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights until 9.30. You can also sit alfresco in the park. (This is outside the swim centre and not fenced in).

On Sunday’s there’s live music at 11am.

Hornsby Leisure Centre has a state of the art gym, undercover parking, and easy access with a lift to pool level.

Shade: There are some shade sales outside over the grass and grandstand.

Mum’s Report: This is a lovely modern pool, with great splashy fun especially suited to younger children. The bigger kids would also enjoy it!

Extra: Hornsby Leisure Centre is set in the grounds of the lovely Hornsby Park. There is a fenced playground in the park as well as shady trees, BBQ’s and a bike track.

Parking: Drive in parking beneath Leisure Centre. If full, there is parking available at Council car parks on Dural and William Streets.

Nearest station and bus: A level 4 minute walk to Hornsby station and bus interchange.
