Pancakes on The Rocks at Darling Harbour

If you’ve got a kid’s birthday coming up, how about celebrating at Pancakes On The Rocks Darling Harbour? My kids have adored taking a couple of friends here, especially in the tween and early teenage years.

We’ve also visited the original Pancakes On The Rocks which is at Sydney’s historic Rocks area, it’s open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, very handy!

But the good thing about Pancakes On The Rocks at Harbourside, Darling Harbour is that you can make a real day of it, and if you visit the right things (eg the excellent Darling Quarter playground) it doesn’t have to break the bank.

When we went, four boys aged 11 and 12 had a hilarious time there, they spend all their time laughing and chatting, silenced only by the arrival of the pancakes which invoked a few minutes of reverential quiet.

Before the sound of scoffing.

Pancakes On The Rocks is on the ground floor of the Harbourside shopping centre, within spitting distance of the Australian National Maritime Museum. A very handy place for a meal after a visit.

There are main meals on the menu but the very thick and luscious pancakes are the main event. You’d never call it health food.  Avoid like the plague if you are living a sugar free life.

On this occasion though, the boys had been playing soccer all morning and so their very large and filling sweet pancakes were well earned.

A very healthy light dinner was in order, plenty of veggies and not much else required. For me at least!

Pancakes On The Rocks Darling Harbour has a very large menu with breakfast, starts and salads, pizzas, grill items and the famous savoury and sweet pancakes. Check out the full menu here.
