Seasalt Cafe at Clovelly Beach

Seasalt Cafe is super kid-friendly and in such a terrific location. Here’s the story of our visit.

It was a BOILING hot day, one of those where the thermometer was tipping 40 C. The kids were totally zinced up but I was still worried about all those hours in the sun.

And we were all starving. But luckily for us we were at Clovelly Beach and there’s a fab cafe right there. It was a winner with the kids and with me… and it has fab views. Win and win and win again!

I was lunching with three 9 years olds… so we sat at the outside tables under the umbrellas. They were wet and sandy but nobody batted an eyelid.

There are also many tables inside which would be good on windy days.

The kids took one look at the Kids Menu and all ordered chicken tenderloins and chips.

They were thrilled and all scoffed the lot.

Then they amazed me by asking for salad… and they ate the lot too. Must be the salty air that built up an appetite for healthy grub.

Have a look at the adults lunch menu on the website, details below.

I loved the Fishcake with Rocket, Cherry Tomato, Pickled Lemon and Dijonaise Mayo ($15.50).

Lovely, there’s nothing like fish after a swim and a snorkel, is there?

To be perfectly honest, what I loved best was the view… I haven’t investigated enough of the Eastern Suburbs cafes on the beach (though here’s a fab list of 11 Best Cafes On The  Beach on the Northern Beaches.)

Ah, it was heaven.

Lots of swimming to work up a healthy appetite.

A lovely cafe with excellent views.

Good healthy grub to eat.

And no washing up!

Do you know this eastern Suburbs delight?

Happy exploring – and eating!

  1. Loving the great ideas on your site. We’re headed down to Sydney in a couple of weeks for a bit of a relax and explore and I have 10 times more ideas than will actually fit into a week after reading your blog. No kids either but guess we just love family friendly type activities and places anyway.

Hello Toni, thanks so much!1 Delighted to hear there are ideas for you without kids too. I keep meaning to write a list of great cafes and restaurants for lunches and dinners without kids… must do that. I’ve been to the very gorgeous Icebergs and even have some nice pix of there… it was a huge treat and is somewhere I’d NEVER take my kids!

  2. I used to live in this area so I always went to Clovelly Beach! Such a great spot for kids too!! I love the look of the dish you had at Seasalt YUM!
I used to find parking was the biggest pain of a weekend. Gotta love Coffs Harbour beaches, no parking issues πŸ™‚ …although no beachside cafes either πŸ™
    Thanks for sharing

Yes, I bet the car park gets busy at weekends. I was surprised at how easy parking was on a boiling day in school holidays though. Don’t remind me how bad Sydney’s traffic is though, compared to other places in NSW… grrrrr…..
