Gusto On The Beach at South Curl Curl SLSC

South Curl Curl Cafe beach

Love a cafe right by the beach.

I’m updating this post as this cafe is under new management and has a lovely new look.

As you can see, at this cafe, it’s definitely food and drink with a sea view.  All the facts and info after a few more photos.

The cafe is in the SLSC at the rear on the left here, gorgeous old building.

Old shot of the cafe, the seats have changed these days.

When our older boys were little we used to bring them to Nippers here, so South Curly beach and this cafe and kiosk have a place in our hearts.

Now the kids are all at school, we sometimes sneak down to read the papers when hubby is home.

It’s never often enough.

Shhh…. don’t tell the kids!

A dip in the pool, followed by lunch and a coffee… it’s the life of Riley, I’m telling you

South Curl Curl SLSC, Carrington Parade, South Curl Curl

Open: Seven days, 8am to 3pm or 4pm depending on season.

Here’s a cafe and takeaway kiosk with marvellous views up the lovely Northern Beaches coastline. It’s in the SLSC building at South Curl Curl, with indoors and outdoors seating and the sand is right there.

Great spot if your children are old enough to play on the beach by themselves, they can whizz off once they have scoffed their meal.

The new inside decor is lovely, with scatter cushions and the white wooden panelling giving it a really beachy feel.

The cafe can get terribly busy, as can the kiosk, especially on Sunday mornings in summer when Nippers swarm the beach.

During the week it’s all much more laid back.  Breakfasts, lunches, drinks and snacks are served.  Check out the latent menu in the photo, but expect changes too.

This is the flagship cafe of Gusto Coffee, a well known cafe which roasts their beans close by in Mona Vale. So you can expect a top notch coffee here.

Children’s Menu: No

Highchairs: Yes

Toilets/ Baby Change: Toilets are very close by in the SLSC, no change tables.

Mum’s Report: We love South Curl Curl and one of its best attractions is that we can sit down at the cafe or at least get a takeaway coffee and ice blocks for the kids.

Extra:  Read the post about South Curl Curl beach and rock pool here, plus pictures of the excellent boardwalk to the south from Curly here.

Parking: There is a small carpark down beside the SLSC, otherwise street parking on Carrington Parade.

Do you love an ocean pool like I do.

Oh good, I was at the old cafe the day it was closed and was so sad. I’m glad there is still a kiosk. I was worried they would open a fancy restaurant. I’m going to make it a priority to check it out before Summer’s over. Gorgeous photos, by the way!

I love it when you get a café at the beach, especially when there is also a sea water pool involved. It is the perfect way for the whole family to spend a day relaxing. I will have to mention this to hubby, I have a feeling Curl Curl is somewhere he spent his earlier pre kid days.
Lol with the food review, it did look great though !!

Being a foodie can become an ambition for the future… and yes, beaches with pools alongside are so good, great for families especially when there’s a shallow kids area as there is at Curly.

Thank you so much for this update!!! I went here with my husband and 3 little kids a few months ago now, and I was disappointed as we loved the swimming but I looked everywhere for the cafe I had seen in previous pictures and couldn’t find it anywhere!!! I assumed I must have had the wrong spot and we went to the little kiosk at North Curl Curl instead which was quite lovely (but more a kiosk, not a sit down code cafe type place!). Anyway, We will have to check this out again now there is the mandatory coffee spot!!

It’s the biggest treat to go there with no kids and after a swim… I don’t know North Curl Curl at all well but must take a wee look there one day, I think there’s a rock pool there, isn’t there? Must investigate.

This looks like an awesome place to escape with or without the kids. I love the name of the cafe. I remember the days of being so grateful not to have to cook for a multitude of palates, that going out was a real pleasure even if it was cardboard consistency with mayo. As the kids leave home, you begin to get more discerning which is both good and bad I think!

Oh that’s me, I could weep with gratitude just cos I don’t have to shop, clear or wash up. It can all get a BIT repetitive. But I find when out with friends too that I’m too busy gabbing to mind much about what I’m eating… must eat more mindfully… one day!

Looks like a great place to relax with kids… or without. I know what you mean that it is never often enough. That salad does look delicious.

What an absolutely gorgeous spot. And with a northerly aspect too. Perhaps we should catch up here instead.
