Here’s a cafe and takeaway kiosk with marvellous views up the lovely Northern Beaches coastline. Gusto On The Beach is in the SLSC building at South Curl Curl, with indoors and outdoors seating and the sand is right there.
This is a great spot if your children are old enough to play on the beach by themselves, they can whizz off once they have scoffed their meal.
Gusto On The Beach at South Curl Curl SLSC
South Curl Curl SLSC, Carrington Parade, South Curl Curl
Open: Seven days, 8am to 3pm or 4pm depending on season.
The new inside decor is lovely, with scatter cushions and the white wooden panelling giving it a really beachy feel.
The cafe can get terribly busy, as can the kiosk, especially on Sunday mornings in summer when Nippers swarm the beach.
During the week it’s all much more laid back. Breakfasts, lunches, drinks and snacks are served. Check out the latent menu in the photo, but expect changes too.
This is the flagship cafe of Gusto Coffee, a well known cafe which roasts their beans close by in Mona Vale. So you can expect a top notch coffee here.
Children’s Menu: No
Highchairs: Yes
Toilets/ Baby Change: Toilets are very close by in the SLSC, no change tables.
Mum’s Report: We love South Curl Curl and one of its best attractions is that we can sit down at the cafe or at least get a takeaway coffee and ice blocks for the kids.
Extra: Read the post about South Curl Curl beach and rock pool here.
Parking: There is a small carpark down beside the SLSC, otherwise street parking on Carrington Parade.
When our older boys were little we used to bring them to Nippers here, so South Curly beach and this cafe and kiosk have a place in our hearts.

This looks like an awesome place to escape with or without the kids. I love the name of the cafe. I remember the days of being so grateful not to have to cook for a multitude of palates, that going out was a real pleasure even if it was cardboard consistency with mayo. As the kids leave home, you begin to get more discerning which is both good and bad I think!
Oh that’s me, I could weep with gratitude just cos I don’t have to shop, clear or wash up. It can all get a BIT repetitive. But I find when out with friends too that I’m too busy gabbing to mind much about what I’m eating… must eat more mindfully… one day!
Thank you, I hope to get some of the inside, it’s so bright and lovely.
Being a foodie can become an ambition for the future… and yes, beaches with pools alongside are so good, great for families especially when there’s a shallow kids area as there is at Curly.
Looks like a great place to relax with kids… or without. I know what you mean that it is never often enough. That salad does look delicious.
