Paradise Beach Avalon: A Secret Sydney Beach + Baths Hideaway

Here’s a little slice of Sydney beach heaven, a tiny one in fact.

Paradise Beach in Avalon is a little pocket handkerchief of sand with a delightful netted swimming enclosure. Paradise Beach is hidden away down at the end of Paradise Avenue, where else?

This is tiny and very beautiful beach on peaceful Pittwater with lovely views over to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. A netted swimming enclosure takes up half the beach and there’s lots of shallow water for splashing.

This beach a really safe and secure little hideaway, ideal for those who do not mind a lack of facilities and cafes. There’s no road near the beach which is great, little ones can run wild.

Kids love swimming in the netted baths and running around its edges and jumping in. The views over Pittwater also make this a serene and special little spot.

Cafes: Not right at the beach but the splendidly healthy and modern Forage Wholefoods Cafe is on Hilltop Road a three minuet drive away. Lovely place for a healthy brekkie or lunch before or after a dip at the beach.

Shade: Some on the beach in the morning from trees

Mum’s report: The rows of dinghies, little boathouses and the yachts bobbing just offshore make this a special and lovely spot for a quiet swim and a play.

Other things to do nearby: gorgeous Clareville Beach and the Clareville Beach Kiosk are a short drive away. Make it a two beaches day!  As a big contrast to these Pittwater beaches, you could visit Avalon Beach with its surf, fabulous rock pool and cool beach side cafe too.

Parking: There are just a very few car spaces at the car park by the beach at the end of Paradise Avenue. If full, turn around and look for parking on Paradise Avenue or Riverview Road. Parking will be difficult on hot days at peak times, so chose your timing carefully.

Now, do not tell everyone… let’s keep this just to ourselves, shall we?

And shall I meet you up there for a dip then a healthy lunch?
